At the start of this century, US power was at its peak. Today it is weaker, the result of an imperial crisis in the Middle East, an economic crisis that crashed the world, the challenge from China and a political crisis that reflects and exacerbates these three trends.
Since Donald Trump’s arrival on the scene more than a decade ago, lying in politics has become ever more shameless. It’s the “post-truth politics” era, apparently.
To transform politics in Australia, we need a party of countless thousands, rooted in workplaces and communities, and organised not just to vote, but to fight against the rich and all their hangers-on.
